The Institute of Power System Planning has been studying on micro-grid planning, distribution network planning,
transmission system planning, generation planning, power load prediction, power security, power quality
and voltage stability. The project of key technologies and application of urban grid electricity disaster
prevention, won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2010. The project of
Power security guarantee technology, won the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Award in 2008. The
project of security technology and application of UHVDC connection to AC receiving system, won the second prize
of Shanghai Science and Technology Award in 2012. The project of analysis model and application of power
quality monitoring, won the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2005. The
project of prediction system development of mid-long term demand for electricity, won the third price of China
Electric Power Science and Technology Award in 2004. The project of power load Prediction for ECPN, won the
second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Award in 2002. The project of technology and application
of power network planning won the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Award in 2001. The
research on the application of laying high-voltage cables under long-distance bridges in power system, won the
first price of State Grid Science and Technology Progress Award. The smart grid integrated demonstration project
for the protection of low-carbon, high-reliability power supply, won the first prize of Shanghai Science and
Technology Award in 2011. We are in charge of the 973 and 863 national projects, key and general program
of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the major projects’ sub-projects of the State Grid
Corporation. We also undertake projects from the Electric Power Company in East China, Shanghai and Jiangsu,
leading talents in Shanghai, outstanding academic leaders, key scientific and technological, Aurora Project,
Venus plans and other topics.
